Job Summary
The Children's Catholic Faith Formation Coordinator is responsible for successfully developing, coordinating, and administering children's catechetical programs, providing for the instructional and religious formational needs of children enrolled in the parish and school, all under the direction of the Pastor. This includes sacramental preparation programs for Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize and manage kindergarten through high school faith formation programs.
- Coordinate the recruitment, training, scheduling, support and evaluation of catechists and assistants for the children's faith formation program and sacramental preparation.
- Coordinate sacramental preparation programs, including Baptism, First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation.
- Communicate regularly with parents and families. Promote family-centered faith formation. Foster hospitality and parish involvement
- Gather and maintain records of registration and participation in faith formation classes and program activities, including parental permission forms and sacramental requirements.
Qualifications
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
- 1 to 2 years post-secondary education; coursework in Theology, Catechetical Studies, or a related field preferred.
- Eligible to meet all Diocesan Safe Environment requirements
- Teaching, catechetical, or educational experience preferred
- Experience coordinating and supporting volunteers preferred
Skills
- Strong knowledge of the Catholic doctrine and teachings
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other communication and collaboration tools
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with clergy, staff, catechists, volunteers, and families
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
