Special education professionals can make a lasting difference supporting students with diverse learning needs. An opportunity is now available for a dedicated educator to provide instruction and support for students with mild disabilities at a high school near Bailey, CO for the 2026-2027 school year. This role is structured as a contract position and offers a four-day workweek (Monday through Thursday), with approximately 32 hours per week. The contract will begin on August 5.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering tailored instruction on a caseload of approximately 15 students with mild needs
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborating with general education staff, families, and specialists to support student goals
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and meeting compliance deadlines
- Participating in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and staff planning sessions as needed
- Supporting inclusive practices and positive behavioral strategies within the classroom
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid state special education teaching certification (or eligibility for certification by start date)
- Previous experience working with high school students is highly valued
- Strong familiarity with IEP procedures and compliance
- Excellent communication skills and an ability to foster relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
