The Role
The Senior Corporate Accountant is a key member of the corporate accounting team, responsible for supporting the company’s accounting operations with a focus on more complex accounting areas, financial reporting, and the month-end close process. This role reflects an evolution from core staff-level responsibilities and includes increased ownership, analytical responsibilities, and oversight of workflow across accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
- Perform and review accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Oversee invoice processing, payments, and collections follow-up
- Resolve more complex AP/AR issues and ensure accuracy and completeness
Treasury
- Monitor and manage bank account activity
- Assist with wires and intercompany transactions, including international payments
- Support cash management and reconciliation processes
Month-End and Quarter-End Close
- Prepare and review journal entries
- Perform and review general ledger account reconciliations
- Lead the month-end and quarter-end close process to ensure timely completion
- Perform balance sheet and income statement analysis, including variance explanations
Financial Reporting Analysis
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports
- Perform profitability analysis, including review of time tracking and cost allocations
- Support ad hoc reporting and analysis for management
Payroll & Other Accounting Functions
- Support payroll processing and related reconciliations, as applicable
- Maintain accuracy and integrity across general accounting functions
Audit and Reporting Support
- Assist with external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements
- Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Coordinate annual 1099 reporting
General
- Collaborate with team members and management to support corporate accounting functions
- Provide guidance and support to Staff Accountants and assist in workflow coordination
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager or designated leadership
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required (or equivalent practical experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
- 3–6+ years of accounting experience
- Working knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles
