Technical Sales Engineer
Supercon Inc. is searching for a motivated, customer focused, resourceful, self-directed, detail-oriented, and hands-on candidate to fill the position of Technical Sales Engineer reporting to the General Manager.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in sales and a solid technical background.
The Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for working closely with customers to understand and interpret their requirements and suggest appropriate products and solutions to meet those needs.
This position requires a strong understanding of our superconducting wire product lines, as well as the ability to communicate technical information in a clear and understandable way.
Ultimately, the role of the Technical Sales Engineer is to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients, ensuring they receive high-quality solutions that address their technological needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Secure and renew orders and arrange delivery
- Confer with customers and engineers to understand customer requirements
- Prepare and deliver technical proposals explaining products to existing and prospective customers
- Organize and attend client meetings and provide technical presentations
- Identify and establish new business opportunities
- Plan and modify products to meet customer needs
- Planning advertising and marketing efforts
- Attend trade shows and seminars to promote products or to learn about industry developments
- Analysis of both short-term and long-range sales forecasting and evaluation of company product lines and their related customers.
· Must collaborate with key departmental stakeholders (engineering, manufacturing, quality, accounts receivable, and finance personnel) to align with corporate strategy to offer high quality products with optimal cost benefit to our customer partners.
Education / Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in business or a technical field (materials or mechanical engineering preferred)
· 3-5 years of related B2B work experience.
Requirements
· Candidates must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and effectively manage priorities, demonstrate high attention to detail.
· Strong written, verbal communication skills and customer service experience.
· Demonstrated independence, resourcefulness, and innovation in carrying out tasks.
· Ability to work in a challenging and fast changing environment.
· Ability to work full time in person at our Shrewsbury, MA location
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Computer skills to include standard MS Office applications and Global Shop ERP software familiarity a plus.
· Knowledge of low temperature superconductor applications is a plus
