Our History: In 1963, in the heart of Oshkosh, a special community took shape: Miravida Living, originally Lutheran Homes of Oshkosh. The journey began with a vision to create a senior living community overflowing with joy and avenues for fulfillment.

Requirements:
Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Plan and implement recreational, therapeutic and/or social activities for residents that provide mental, physical and social stimulation for residents, both in group and one to one settings.

Supervision of life enrichment staff including scheduling, attendance, performance reviews, orientation, etc.

Collaboration with Resident Council on programs and services and facilitate programming and work with other agencies on cooperative programs.

Provide in-service sessions concerning the activity program to personnel in other departments.

Perform such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Administrator.

Coordinate and recruitment of volunteers as related to the Activity Department.

Maintain dignity and respect in all interactions with residents, staff and others.
Supervisory Responsibility
The Life Enrichment Coordinator will be responsible for the supervision of members of the life enrichment/activities team. This includes leading, coaching and advising on best practice, department goals and expectations, and programming.

Physical Expectations
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is a highly active role. There is a need to be able to push, pull and lift 20 pounds without assistance. Bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and twisting are frequently required of this position. There is a need to assist residents with limited mobility by assisting with wheelchair navigation.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and /or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Will require exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours are Monday and Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Travel
Minimal travel is required with this position.
Required Education and Experience

Must be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist, an accredited activities professional, occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant licensed and/or certified in Wisconsin or have completed a course approved by the State.

Experience in documentation, record keeping, charting, etc., as required by regulation agencies, using computer charting software is preferred.
Preferred Education and Experience
-
2 years experience in a social or recreational program preferred. Experience in working with the elderly and their needs is preferred.

Experience in organizing, planning, and carrying out large group programs is preferred.
