Overview
The Project Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Chicago Area. This position is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates for concrete and construction projects by reviewing drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Day-to-day tasks include performing quantity take-offs, requesting and analyzing vendor and subcontractor quotes, and developing accurate budgets and bids. The Project Estimator collaborates with project managers, engineers, and field teams to refine estimates, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support project planning and scheduling. The role also involves maintaining estimation records, updating cost databases, and participating in client meetings to discuss proposals and clarify scope.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Cost Management and Budgeting skills to develop and maintain accurate project financials.
- Candidates should possess Construction Estimating and Project Estimation skills to prepare detailed bids and proposals.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and clients.
- Relevant experience in concrete or general construction, including reading blueprints and specifications, is beneficial.
- Proficiency with estimation software, spreadsheets, and basic project management tools is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment are important.
- A degree or diploma in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is advantageous.
Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
