Coastal Metal Forming Corp. is a growing, specialized metal forming company providing precision stretch forming services for the architectural glazing, commercial construction, and aerospace industries. We work with aluminum extrusions ranging from curtain wall systems and handrails to complex aerospace components. We are looking for an experienced Stretch Forming Machine Operator who takes pride in quality craftsmanship and wants to grow with a company that values skill, precision, and professionalism.
Position Summary
The Stretch Forming Machine Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining stretch forming equipment to produce high-quality curved aluminum extrusions. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with architectural aluminum systems, aerospace extrusions, or both, and understands the importance of precision, consistency, and safety.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate stretch forming machinery.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders.
- Form aluminum extrusions to required radii and tolerances.
- Perform machine setup, tooling changes, and routine adjustments.
- Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and overall quality.
- Work with architectural metals including curtain wall, storefront, handrail, base shoe, framing systems, and custom extrusions.
- Form aerospace aluminum extrusions while maintaining tight tolerances and quality standards.
- Safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment in excellent working condition.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with management and production personnel to meet customer deadlines.
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 5 years of stretch forming experience.
- Experience operating stretch forming machines.
- Experience forming aluminum extrusions.
- Ability to read blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Strong understanding of dimensional measuring tools and quality control.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and safely handle long extrusions.
Preferred:
- Experience with architectural aluminum products such as curtain wall, storefront, railing systems, or glazing components.
- Experience with aerospace aluminum extrusions.
- Experience with heat-treated aluminum alloys.
- Forklift and overhead crane experience.
- CNC or hydraulic machine experience is a plus.
