We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Travel Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Deliver comprehensive critical care nursing to ICU patients, including monitoring vital signs, managing ventilators, and administering medications with precision.
- Perform detailed patient assessments, interpret physiological data, and develop individualized care plans aligned with best practices.
- Utilize advanced EMR/EHR systems to document patient information accurately, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Execute specialized procedures such as IV infusions, catheterizations, suturing, and sterile techniques following aseptic protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate treatment strategies.
- Manage complex cases involving trauma medicine, infectious disease care, acute pain management, and post-operative recovery.
- Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medication administration, and discharge instructions.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control standards and hospital policies during all patient interactions.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in the state of practice with current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Minimum of two years of ICU experience within a Level I or Level II trauma center preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner; experience with medical documentation standards including ICD-10 coding.
- Demonstrated expertise in critical care procedures including ventilator management, airway management, and acute pain control.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and medical terminology relevant to intensive care nursing.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, trauma victims, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to perform under pressure in high-stakes environments while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
- Excellent communication skills for effective triage, patient assessment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and family education.
