We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual to join our anatomic pathology laboratory as a Third ShiftDigital Slide Scanner / Laboratory Assistant.
This position plays a critical role in ensuring pathologists receive high-quality digital images for patient diagnosis. The successful candidate will operate digital pathology scanning equipment, perform quality control review of scanned slides, and verify that cases are accurate and complete before release.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys independent work, takes pride in accuracy, and is comfortable working in a laboratory environment during overnight hours.
What You'll Do
- Operate digital pathology slide scanning equipment
- Scan histopathology slides for pathologist review
- Carefully inspect digital images for quality, focus, completeness, and accuracy
- Perform quality control checks and resolve image issues when identified
- Maintain tracking logs, spreadsheets, and electronic records
- Verify case information and ensure work is completed accurately before release
- Assist with uncomplicated specimen embedding and other laboratory support tasks as needed
- Follow laboratory procedures and quality standards
- Maintain a clean, organized work area

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic computer proficiency
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow written procedures and instructions
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous laboratory experience
- Histology or pathology laboratory experience
- Experience performing quality control or inspection-based work
- Experience with digital imaging, scanning systems, or healthcare environments
Work Environment
This is a third-shift position in a clinical laboratory setting. Portions of the shift may be worked independently, so candidates should be comfortable working alone while maintaining productivity and accuracy. The work is detail-oriented and requires sustained concentration throughout the shift.
