Duties
- Assist in managing all store operations, including sales, inventory control, and customer service standards
- Supervise and support retail sales team members to meet and exceed sales goals through effective coaching and motivation
- Oversee employee orientation, training & development programs to foster a knowledgeable and engaged team
- Handle recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates, conducting assessments, and onboarding new hires
- Manage payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) systems to ensure accurate financial transactions
- Maintain inventory management through stock ordering, merchandising, pricing strategies, and stock replenishment
- Ensure operational excellence by supervising shift management, organizing store layout, and enforcing health & safety protocols
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail management or assistant management roles within the retail industry with supervisory responsibilities
- Strong skills in negotiation, sales management, and customer service with a focus on delivering exceptional shopping experiences
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customer bases
- Demonstrated proficiency in inventory management, POS systems, cash handling, bookkeeping, and basic math skills
- Ability to lead teams effectively through managerial communication, training & development initiatives, and operational oversight
- Experience with retail math including pricing strategies, budgeting, and sales analysis; familiarity with grocery store operations is advantageous
- Organized with excellent time management skills to handle multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment
