Duties
- Provide professional hair styling, cutting, coloring, and texturing services tailored to each client’s preferences and features
- Perform advanced treatments such as hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and hair threading to enhance client beauty routines
- Utilize salon software systems like MINDBODY for appointment scheduling, client management, and retail sales tracking
- Conduct consultations to understand client needs and recommend suitable hair care products or services
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards by properly sterilizing tools and ensuring a clean work environment
- Assist with front desk responsibilities including greeting clients, managing appointments, and processing payments
- Upsell retail products such as hair care items, makeup, nail care products, and styling tools to maximize sales opportunities
- Mentor junior team members by sharing expertise in hair coloring techniques, color theory, barbering skills like straight razor shaves, and overall store management
Experience
- Proven experience working in the beauty industry as a hairstylist or cosmetologist with a strong portfolio of diverse services performed
- Knowledge of salon software platforms such as MINDBODY or similar systems for booking and client management
- Skilled in various hair care techniques including coloring, styling, extensions, and hair treatments
- Familiarity with sanitation protocols specific to cosmetology practices to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with clients effectively and provide personalized recommendations
- Experience in retail sales with an understanding of retail math principles for upselling products confidently
- Certification in Cosmetology or Barbering as required by state licensing boards; additional training in makeup application or nail care is a plus
