POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for hands-on maintenance and repair of production equipment and facility systems in a glass manufacturing environment to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous operations. This position reports to the Lead Maintenance Technician.
The Maintenance Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance, and troubleshoots mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, plumbing, heating, and basic electrical systems, and supports plant up-time by maintaining machinery and infrastructure to meet company and regulatory standards. This role requires strong diagnostic skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Perform day-to-day preventative and corrective maintenance to ensure safe operation, equipment reliability, and minimal downtime.
- Assist with installation, repair, and adjustment of equipment, components, and machinery.
- Using diagnostic skills to troubleshoot, and repair automated machinery and plant systems, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and heating systems.
- Support and complete Preventive Maintenance (PM) work orders using MP2, ensuring tasks are completed on time and accurately documented.
- Maintain plant utilities and infrastructure, including lighting, compressed air systems, water systems, and general building maintenance.
- Support work performed by third-party contractors and vendors, as directed.
- Assist in managing maintenance inventory, parts, tools, and supplies to support uninterrupted operations.
- Follow and support compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations; actively model safe work practices.
- Perform work in physically demanding and potentially hazardous environments, including high temperatures (100+°F), elevated heights (20+ feet), confined spaces, and while lifting or carrying up to 75 pounds.
- Operate lifts, climb ladders, assemble heavy machinery, and work at heights as required.
- Communicate maintenance issues clearly, document findings, and ensure assigned tasks and projects are completed.
- Work effectively under time constraints, independently or as part of a team, to meet operational priorities.
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and promote 5S and housekeeping standards.
- Identify process and reliability improvement opportunities and communicate recommendations to the Lead Maintenance Technician to reduce unplanned downtime and enhance equipment performance.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives related to safety, quality, and production support.
Skills & Abilities
Education
- High School Diploma/GED
- Experience accepted in lieu of education
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- Experience maintaining equipment in a manufacturing environment; experience in glass manufacturing, high-heat processes, and/or continuous-motion production equipment maintenance preferred.
- Working knowledge of OSHA and facility safety regulations.
- Automotive mechanical background is a plus.
- Lean manufacturing and/or 5S experience preferred.
Language Skills
- Must be able to read/write/communicate in English.
Computer Skills
- General computer proficiency, including email, spreadsheets, and documentation.
- Familiarity with CMMS (MP2 preferred).

- Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude in an industrial setting.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Strong organizational and planning skills to manage multiple work orders and PM tasks.
- Clear communication skills to coordinate with internal teams and external vendors.
- Self-motivated and able to make sound technical decisions with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet productivity goals in a fast-paced environment.

- Willingness to assist in other areas as needed and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated accountability for safety practices and adherence to OSHA standards (OSHA 10 preferred)
