Requirements
- Active PTA license (state of employment)
- 1+ year acute care PTA experience required
- Home health experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license + auto insurance
- Knowledge of medical terminology, wound care techniques, and behavioral interventions relevant to physical therapy.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) management systems for documentation and reporting purposes.
- Certification in basic life support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
- Experience working with culturally diverse communities, demonstrating sensitivity and effective communication skills.
- Ability to adapt treatment approaches for different patient needs while maintaining professionalism and compassion.
Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in evaluating patient needs and developing individualized treatment plans.
- Implement therapeutic interventions such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities under supervision.
- Monitor patient progress and document responses using electronic health records (EHR) management systems accurately and efficiently.
- Support patients with activities of daily living, including wound care and behavioral interventions when appropriate.
- Educate patients and their families on treatment procedures, home exercises, and safety protocols such as basic life support (BLS) and CPR.
- Participate in telehealth platforms to provide remote patient care and follow-up consultations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure culturally sensitive care tailored to diverse communities.
- Maintain a safe clinical environment by adhering to health regulations, including hyperbaric medicine protocols when applicable.
