Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide exceptional support to individuals in need of assistance with daily activities and personal care. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patients’ health by taking vital signs and observing for changes in condition or behavior
- Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA regulations to ensure patient safety and confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and infection control practices
- Support clients with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care, ensuring a secure environment
- Document patient observations, care provided, and any incidents meticulously in compliance with healthcare standards
Skills
- Proven experience in group home settings, assisted living, or home & community care environments
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques, medication administration, and vital signs measurement
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy and confidentiality
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or dementia-related conditions
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Certifications in CPR, First Aid, and basic nursing skills preferred; ongoing training encouraged to stay current in hospice care or memory support techniques
