American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele-Palliative Care position requiring 2+ years of acute care experience and Epic proficiency.
-
Palliative Care unit within a cancer hospital setting focused on symptom management for patients undergoing treatment
-
Cares for patients experiencing uncontrolled pain, severe nausea/vomiting, failure to thrive, and fatigue
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
-
May be scheduled for a rotating combination of day and night shifts based on department needs, with assignments reviewed every 4-week period
-
Required to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity level
-
Uses Epic EMR system
-
Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration

BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
-
Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required, with current experience in the specialty within the last 12 months
-
Epic EMR experience required
-
Teaching hospital experience preferred
-
Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
-
Experienced in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and peripheral line care/management
-
Proficient in oxygen administration, nasal cannula use, and non-invasive airway management
-
Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE use
-
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
-
Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted

Provide symptom management and supportive care to enhance quality of life for patients still undergoing cancer treatment

Opportunity to enhance palliative care skills while gaining exposure to other high-acuity med surg units through floating

Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more

RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less

Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing the contract due to strict credentialing timelines
