The schedule following training completion will be 10 am - 6 pm, Monday - Friday
Position Purpose
This position is responsible for picking customer orders. It is essential that customer orders are properly set up and secured for shipment. Excellent communication skills are required as this position also interacts with incoming freight companies, suppliers, and customers.
Ensure that we meet/exceed customer expectations for timely delivery of a quality product utilizing good general business practices that are in full compliance with any state or federal requirements.
Essential Functions
· Responsible for recording items on incoming Bills of Lading and pick tickets, and forwarding them to the appropriate person
· Follows up with Customer Service Representatives and the Plant Manager for product and equipment accuracy and delivery date
· Uses FIFO (first in, first out) method when pulling inventory for delivery
· Reports all product and equipment shortages in back-order situations immediately
· Raw materials and finished goods must be properly assigned and stored in the correct locations
· Conducts tote retesting and certification along with maintaining the appropriate tote records.
· Responsible for checking all incoming inventory for accuracy, cleanliness, and damage
· Load and unload common carrier deliveries, including packaged and bulk liquids
· Responsible for maintaining clean and orderly warehouses and loading dock areas
· May be required to make small deliveries by pick-up truck
· Assist Truck Drivers with unloading returnable containers
· Takes all necessary precautions to ensure that the warehouses are operated safely and in a professional manner
· Responsible for Continuous Improvement in all aspects of production
· Assists in snow removal duties during the winter months.
· May be required to occasionally work evening and weekend hours as needed to ensure proper completion of duties
· All other duties as assigned
Education/Experience
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· One year of warehouse experience or similar
Skills
· Ability to read and comprehend pick tickets, purchase orders, receiving slips, route slips, and instructions
· Knowledge of safe work practices
· Possess basic math skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attentive and timely in responses
· Good follow-up and ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously without getting flustered
· Collaborative and cooperative work style internally and externally with a “can-do” attitude
· Excellent problem solver who sees solutions instead of obstacles
· Familiarity with MS Office software and strong computer skills
· Valid driver’s license
· Excellent attendance record
