Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This role involves preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment, ensuring high-quality food service for our guests. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, culinary techniques, and food safety standards, with a passion for creating delicious meals and maintaining efficient kitchen operations.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to menu specifications and recipes
- Cook menu items with attention to presentation, quality, and consistency
- Assist with menu planning and develop new recipes in collaboration with the culinary team
- Ensure all food handling procedures meet safety and sanitation standards
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Support catering events and special functions as needed
- Stock and organize kitchen supplies to ensure smooth daily operations
- Follow dietary guidelines and accommodate special dietary needs when required
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and food service environments
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning and recipe development
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Previous restaurant or culinary industry experience preferred
- Ability to work as part of a team, demonstrating good communication skills
- Knowledge of catering services and serving practices is advantageous
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
