Qualifications & Experience:
- Proficiency with a minimum 4.0 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score
- Previous experience interpreting in educational settings, ideally with elementary school students
- Current and valid licensure for Sign Language Interpreting (please submit proof of licensure)
- Ability to commit to an on-site position Monday through Friday, within standard school hours
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Professional demeanor when collaborating with educators, families, and support staff
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate, clear American Sign Language interpretation for a third-grade student in both classroom and school settings
- Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, classmates, and school staff
- Adapt interpreting methods to meet the unique needs of the student and instructional context
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
- Collaborate with the educational team to support student goals and IEP objectives
- Maintain appropriate documentation as required by school and district policy
