Overview
Family looking for a Special Education Tutor, where your passion for teaching and commitment to student success will make a meaningful difference. In this role, you will provide tailored academic support to a 20-year-old Male Student with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The student has limited verbal communication and is home schooled.
Duties
- Deliver engaging tutoring sessions in subjects such as English language arts, math, and early childhood education, both in-person and online
- Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instruction and facilitate interactive learning experiences
- Assess student progress regularly, adjusting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles and needs
- Collaborate with parents, and specialists to coordinate support strategies and track student development
Requirements
- Special Education Teaching Credential or BCBA/RBT
- Proven experience working with children or students in classroom or tutoring settings, especially within special education or early childhood education
- Strong skills in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches based on individual learning styles and developmental level
- Knowledge of teaching math, English language arts, and general classroom activities for diverse age groups
- Prior experience in childcare or preschool environments is a plus
- Demonstrated understanding of special education practices and working with students with varied needs
Pay: $70.00 - $75.00 per hour
