Duties
- Operate dishwashing machines efficiently while adhering to food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
- Manually wash and handle delicate kitchenware, utensils, and cookware that cannot go through the machine.
- Assist with food handling and basic food preparation tasks as directed by culinary staff, supporting overall kitchen operations.
- Maintain cleanliness by regularly cleaning sinks, dishwashing stations, floors, and work areas in compliance with health standards.
- Support catering and banquet events by ensuring all serving ware and equipment are properly cleaned and ready for use.
- Follow proper manual handling techniques when lifting heavy pots, trays, or boxes to prevent injury and maintain safety standards.
- Contribute to a safe food environment by practicing food safety management protocols at all times.
Skills
- Experience in restaurant or hospitality environments with a strong understanding of food safety sanitizing procedures.
- Knowledge of dishwashing techniques, food handling, and basic kitchen operations.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during busy service periods.
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and sanitation standards required in commercial kitchens.
- Basic knife skills for assisting with light food prep tasks when needed.
- Previous banquet or catering experience is a plus, demonstrating adaptability in high-volume settings.
- Excellent cleaning skills with an eye for detail; committed to maintaining a hygienic work environment.
- Strong teamwork ethic with the ability to support culinary staff in various food service activities including serving and food preparation.
