General Description and Classification Standards
The purpose of this position is to assist in supervising employees responsible for the preparation and processing of warrants, stolen vehicles, missing persons and other related record entries into the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC); verifying active warrants; coordinating communications related for the removal and cancellation of warrants and other GCIC record entries; conducting criminal and driver history inquiries through the GCIC database. This position also supports clerical functions related to GCIC operations and other related City operations. Working knowledge of the Axon Records management system. The employee must be able to perform all assigned tasks independently as well as in a supervisory support capacity.

May sometimes be assigned to train other technicians.

- Assist GCIC Supervisor, coordinate activities and facilitate or conduct training.
- Have the ability to make sound decisions for the GCIC staff in the absence of a supervisor.
- Assist the GCIC supervisor with daily administrative tasks that could include but are not limited to maintaining unit logs, checking the assigned shift’s work for accuracy and completeness, communicate necessary information to the next shift, maintain the detainer box, and ensure that the required work is complete before the next shift.
- Extend customer care in a confidential professional manner to External and Internal customers at all times.
- Verify that all Warrant packages are completed in its entirety and contain all documents needed before being accepted for Entry.
- ENTER, CLEAR/CANCEL, MODIFY Warrants, Missing/Unidentified Persons, Vehicles and Articles onto the GCIC System.
- Ensure the data that is entered onto the GCIC System is correct and entered in the mandated allotted time by GCIC
- Make copies, collate and file all completed documents; contact Investigator/Officer via e-mail (CC Supervisor) when wanted subject is apprehended or no longer wanted.
- Contact vehicle owners by phone and mail once vehicles have been found and CLEARED from the GCIC System.
May perform other duties as assigned.
