Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Payroll Administrator to join our team. In this vital role, you will manage payroll processing, ensure compliance with labor and tax laws, and maintain accurate payroll records. Your expertise will help us deliver timely and precise payroll services that support our employees and organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately using systems such as Foundation and Heavy Job, ensuring adherence to all relevant employment and labor laws.
- Maintain and update payroll data within Foundation, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
- Reconcile payroll accounts regularly through general ledger accounting practices and perform journal entries as needed.
- Handle payroll tax calculations, filings, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Support time & attendance systems by verifying employee hours, leave records, and attendance data for accuracy for both union and non-union employees.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll discrepancies or issues swiftly and professionally.
- Prepare detailed reports on payroll activities for management review and audit purposes.
Requirements
- Proven experience with payroll systems such as Foundation, QuickBooks, etc is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of employment & labor law, payroll tax regulations, and financial concepts related to payroll management.
- Familiarity with accounting software like Foundation, QuickBooks or other financial software; experience with spreadsheets for data analysis is essential.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while maintaining high accuracy in data entry and account reconciliation.
- Solid understanding of technical accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliation.
- Excellent analysis skills to identify discrepancies or errors in payroll processing or financial records.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
