BCaBA Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with Behavioral Assessments: Support the completion of functional behavior assessments under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to help identify the functions of challenging behaviors, at a level of competency appropriate for a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst.
- Implement Individualized Treatment Plans: Execute behavior intervention plans (BIPs) designed by a BCBA, using evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies, and assist in monitoring their effectiveness.
- Support Supervision and Training: Provide guidance and support to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) under the direction of a BCBA, ensuring proper implementation of the plan of care.
- Data Collection and Reporting: Implement data collection systems as directed by a BCBA to track client progress, compile data for review, and report observations to inform treatment adjustments.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including OT, PT, SLP, and Music Therapy professionals, as well as clients’ families and other stakeholders, to support a comprehensive approach to client care.
- Maintain Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate session notes, progress reports, and other required documentation in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards applicable to Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts, under BCBA oversight.
Qualifications:
- Certification and Licensure: Possess a valid BCaBA certification and meet licensure requirements in Michigan.
- Experience: 1-3 years of BCaBA experience is preferred; newly certified candidates will also be considered.
- Supervision Requirement: Must work under the ongoing supervision of a BCBA, adhering to BACB guidelines.
- Availability: Willingness to work afternoons, at least three to four evenings Monday through Friday until 8:00 PM, and participate in a Saturday supervision rotation approximately every two months .
- Transportation: Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between clinic locations in Shelby Township and Clinton Township and provide limited in-home support within Macomb County.
