*Position Summary*
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder to join our ISO 9001-certified aerospace machine shop. The ideal candidate will have experience producing high-quality welded assemblies that meet strict aerospace quality standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements. This position requires excellent craftsmanship, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG and MIG welding on stainless steel, aluminum, Inconel, titanium, and other aerospace materials.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions.
- Set up and operate welding equipment to produce precision components and assemblies.
- Inspect welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
- Work within an ISO 9001 quality management system by following documented procedures and maintaining accurate production records.
- Use precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Collaborate with machinists, quality inspectors, and engineering personnel to resolve production issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and report any equipment concerns.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of TIG and MIG welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing experience preferred.
- Ability to weld thin-gauge materials with minimal distortion.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and weld symbols.
- Experience working under an ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality system is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS welding certification.
- Experience with aerospace weld documentation and inspection requirements.
- Familiarity with precision machining and fabricated assemblies.
- Experience with first article inspections and quality documentation.
