The Systems Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and optimization of chiller systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards for performance, efficiency, and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to support product development and improvements.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
- Proficiency in CAD software and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Minitab, etc.).
- Ability to analyze complex systems and data to identify performance issues and optimization opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve advanced engineering problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Meticulous in ensuring compliance with industry standards and accuracy in engineering designs.
Preferred Skills and Abilities:
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Strong project management and team leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in computational modeling tools (e.g., CFD, FEA).
- Familiarity with chiller controls and instrumentation.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., ASHRAE, ISO, AHRI).
- Chiller system design, development, and optimization, with experience in both centrifugal and screw chillers.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability principles.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of chiller systems, including refrigeration circuits, heat exchangers, and controls. Ensure designs meet industry standards and client specifications.
- Optimize chiller performance through thermodynamic analysis, computational modeling, and testing.
- Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and adherence to quality standards.
- Oversee the testing and validation of chiller systems to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards. Analyze data and implement improvements based on testing outcomes.
- Ensure chiller systems comply with all relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Provide advanced technical support to clients, including troubleshooting, maintenance recommendations, and efficiency improvement suggestions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within engineering processes, keeping up to date with the latest advancements in chiller technology and HVAC systems.
- Other duties as assigned.
