Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented, client focused accounting professional with 3-5 years of relevant experience to join our firm. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to lead complex accounting functions, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to the financial health of our clients. We provide tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll and payroll tax return preparation, and sales tax compliance services to a diverse client base of individuals and small-to-mid-sized businesses.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual, business, and fiduciary tax returns
- Manage client bookkeeping engagements, including monthly/quarterly close processes
- Process payroll and prepare related payroll tax returns (941, 940, state filings)
- Prepare and file sales tax returns across applicable jurisdictions
- Review work of junior staff and provide guidance/mentorship
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information, resolve questions, and provide proactive advice
- Research tax issues and stay current on changing tax law and compliance requirements
- Assist with tax planning and projections for clients
- Support firm leadership during busy season and year-round client service needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 3–5 years of public accounting experience (tax, bookkeeping, and/or payroll)
- CPA license or active progress toward CPA is a plus, but not required
- Proficiency with tax preparation software CCH Axcess Tax and QuickBooks
- Strong understanding of payroll processing and multi-state payroll/sales tax compliance
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple client deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment
Pay: $67,396.20 - $81,165.32 per year
