Foertmeyer and Sons Greenhouse is seeking an experienced, results-driven sales professional to develop new fundraising business within an assigned territory.
This position is focused on new customer acquisition, with an emphasis on identifying and developing high-value accounts with strong year-over-year sales potential. The Fundraising Sales Representative will generate new opportunities through consistent prospecting while also responding to qualified inbound opportunities provided by the company.
We are looking for a sales professional who takes initiative, knows how to build a pipeline, develops strong customer relationships, and can successfully move an opportunity from initial contact through discovery, presentation, objection handling, negotiation, and close.
Experience in fundraising sales is valuable, but not required. Successful candidates will bring a demonstrated record of developing new business, achieving measurable sales goals, and taking personal responsibility for results.
We are looking for candidates to manage territories throughout Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, and parts of Western NY.
This position is commision-based.
The Foertmeyer Fundraising Solution
Foertmeyer provides schools and community organizations with a complete fundraising solution that combines high-quality seasonal flowers and plants, a state-of-the-art ecommerce platform, a proven fundraising process, and comprehensive operational support.
The Fundraising Sales Representative must develop a strong understanding of the entire Foertmeyer solution and effectively communicate how its products, technology, process, and support can help organizations achieve their fundraising goals while making the experience easier for organizers, participants, and supporters.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development & Prospecting
Prospecting and new business development are the primary responsibilities of this position.
- Develop new fundraising business within an assigned geographic territory.
- Consistently generate new opportunities through outbound calling, email, referrals, networking, community relationships, video meetings, in-person visits, and other appropriate prospecting activities.
- Identify high-value prospective accounts with strong fundraising potential and recurring year-over-year opportunity.
- Research the assigned territory to identify prospective organizations, new customer segments, and key decision-makers.
- Identify and develop new audiences and types of organizations that could benefit from Foertmeyer and Sons Greenhouse fundraising solution.
- Develop opportunities with schools, PTOs/PTAs, booster clubs, athletic programs, churches, dance studios, gymnastics facilities, youth organizations, nonprofits, and other community organizations.
- Develop referral networks and leverage existing relationships to create additional opportunities.
- Respond promptly and professionally to qualified company-generated inbound opportunities.
- Maintain consistent prospecting activity necessary to achieve established new-account and revenue goals.
Sales & Closing
- Conduct discovery conversations to understand prospective customers' current fundraising programs, goals, challenges, decision-making processes, and operational needs.
- Qualify opportunities based on customer fit, fundraising potential, timing, decision-making authority, and long-term value.
- Present and demonstrate Foertmeyer and Sons Greehouse's complete fundraising solution based on the needs of the prospective customer.
- Clearly communicate how Foertmeyer and Sons Greehouse's products, technology, fundraising process, and operational support work together to create value for the customer.
- Develop proposals and recommendations appropriate to customer needs.
- Address questions and objections professionally and accurately.
- Negotiate within established company guidelines.
- Close qualified opportunities and secure signed customer agreements.
- Build strong customer relationships while maintaining focus on advancing and closing the sale.
Pipeline & Territory Management
- Build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline sufficient to achieve established new-account and revenue goals.
- Maintain accurate prospect, opportunity, customer, and sales activity information within the company CRM.
- Follow up promptly and consistently with prospects and active sales opportunities.
- Prioritize opportunities based on potential value, likelihood to close, timing, and long-term sales potential.
- Plan and manage territory activity to maximize sales opportunities and effectively use available time and resources.
- Provide reliable sales forecasts and participate in regular pipeline and performance reviews.
- Monitor competitive activity and fundraising trends within the assigned territory.
- Communicate relevant customer needs, competitive information, and market intelligence to company leadership.
Customer Handoff & Ongoing Sales Support
This position is focused on sales and new business development and is not an ongoing account-management role.
Following a successful sale, the Fundraising Sales Representative will coordinate a complete handoff to the internal teams responsible for onboarding, campaign execution, customer support, fulfillment, and delivery.
The representative will remain appropriately involved in customer satisfaction follow-up and rebooking when sales involvement can strengthen the relationship or support future business. The position will also identify opportunities for account growth, additional business, and referrals.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of three years of successful sales or business-development experience with demonstrated achievement of measurable sales goals.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated success generating new business through self-directed prospecting and outbound sales activity.
- Proven ability to develop opportunities from initial contact through discovery, presentation, objection handling, negotiation, and close.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a qualified sales pipeline.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented, with demonstrated initiative, persistence, and personal accountability.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and maintain consistent sales activity with limited supervision.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Experience using CRM systems to manage prospects, opportunities, sales activity, and pipeline.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout an assigned territory, including occasional overnight travel.
Preferred
- Experience in product fundraising sales, territory sales, or other relationship-based business development.
- Experience selling to schools, PTOs/PTAs, booster clubs, athletic programs, competitive dance & cheer, youth organizations, nonprofit organizations, or other community-based groups.
- Demonstrated success developing high-value accounts with recurring or repeat-sales potential.
- Established relationships within the assigned geographic territory.
