Job Summary:
Under general direction, Quality Control Inspector is primarily responsible for all inspecting and testing
conducted on site including finished and intermediate products, and all materials. The Quality Control
Inspector also coordinates testing at external labs, reviews filling record information for accuracy and
legibility per current good manufacturing processes, and verifies all production activities in weighing,
compounding and filling. The Quality Control Inspector reports updates on the status of all projects and
initiatives to the leader.
Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Prepares and conducts first article and line clearance inspections of for all packaging lines by:
Using various forms to enter required data every hour for all assigned product lines.
- Inspecting products to ensure no leaks, proper fillings and correct labeling
- Calibrating navigator weight scales to ensure acceptable weight limits;
- Inspecting packaged UDIs for correct bar codes and expiration rates per specification.
- Notifying operator/ supervisor or any machine malfunctions.
2. Enters required data and signatures on the water system, compounding and filling equipment
sanitization inspection logbooks as needed.
3. Coordinates, collects and maintains all FG, Bulk, and raw material samples by:
- Collecting FG product samples for the QC Samples Supervisor for microbiological testing.
- Retains samples for all 1st, middle, and final phases of the products.
- Documenting all samples in the logbook and storing them in containers for future use.
- Maintaining all FG, Bulk, and raw material samples in boxes until expired.
4. Assist with non-conformances and support investigative work related to machines not performing,
5. Provides assistance with administrative tasks such as filing and organizing documentation
pertinent to Quality Control inspection.
6. Supports all safety initiatives at the site.
7. Conducts training as needed
Qualifications
Required Education, Certification & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus.
Basic computer skills using Word and Excel.
1 year of experience with GMP and GDP
1 year experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a quality role.
ASQ Quality Certification is a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Detail oriented with good organizational skills.
Good communication and interaction skills.
Able to follow written work instructions.
Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as scheduled
Problem Solving and decision-making.
Must be able to speak, write and read English. Bilingual skills are a plus.
Able to properly use standard inspection equipment (calipers, thickness gage and other, gages
etc.).
Demonstrated ability to read, understand and apply the information contained on
technical documentation, procedures, drawings, and understand basic geometric
tolerances.
Must be capable of performing job-related tasks, associated with use of a mechanical
and/or electrical pallet jack, in moving pallets/skids, for which documented training is
mandatory.
