About Eco Constructors
Eco is an environmental service provider that protects, establishes, and provides stewardship for ecological resources. We're in an active growth phase, building out new service lines and expanding our footprint across Missouri and Illinois.
The Opportunity
This is a leadership role for someone who wants to build something, not just manage it. Roughly half of this role is taking ownership of the SWPPP business we already have — leading the team, standardizing how we do the work, and growing revenue on a proven service. The other half is a blank canvas: identifying, building, and selling new revenue streams that don't exist yet. If you're energized by both the operational rigor of running a compliance-driven team and the challenge of creating and growing something new, this role is built for you.
What You'll DoLead the Environmental Services Team
- Take ownership of Eco's SWPPP inspection operations, serving as the direct manager for all SWPPP inspectors
- Conduct SWPPP inspections yourself on a regular basis, staying close to the field work and maintaining technical credibility with the team
- Centralize and standardize SWPPP reporting across all sites — building consistent templates, formats, and quality standards so that every report meets the same bar regardless of who wrote it
- Establish clear inspection scheduling, quality control, and compliance-tracking processes
- Serve as the internal subject-matter expert on SWPPP/NPDES compliance requirements across Missouri and Illinois
Grow SWPPP Revenue
- Own the growth targets for the existing SWPPP inspection line
- Identify and pursue new SWPPP client relationships, working alongside business development
- Build repeatable systems (pricing, proposal templates, client onboarding) that make it easier to scale the SWPPP business without sacrificing quality
Expand Our Service Offerings
- Identify and lead the development of new inspection-based service lines that leverage the same field skill set, client relationships, and compliance expertise
- Develop the market approach for each new line: pricing models, target client segmentation, service delivery standards, and go-to-market strategy
- Build the operational playbook for scaling new service lines profitably, in partnership with company leadership
Team & Process Leadership
- Recruit, train, and develop SWPPP inspectors as the team grows
- Set performance standards and provide ongoing coaching and quality feedback
- Report regularly to ownership on team performance, revenue growth, and new line development progress
- Represent Eco professionally with clients, regulators, and partner organizations
What We're Looking For
- Strong working knowledge of SWPPP/NPDES stormwater compliance requirements (Missouri and Illinois experience a plus)
- Understanding of MS4 permit programs and requirements, including how municipal stormwater compliance obligations shape client needs
- Prior experience conducting stormwater/erosion control inspections; CPESC, CESSWI, CISEC, or similar certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- Experience managing or leading a team of field inspectors or similar technical staff
- Demonstrated ability to build or scale a business, service line, or operational process — this could be entrepreneurial experience, intrapreneurial experience, or a strong track record of "owning" growth within a company
- Proven ability to sell — comfortable proactively hunting and closing new SWPPP work, not just managing existing accounts, as well as identifying and winning new revenue streams
- Comfort operating with real revenue and growth accountability, not just task completion
- Strong organizational skills — this person will be the one who brings order and consistency to reporting across the team
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites across the MO/IL bi-state region
- Self-directed and comfortable with a hybrid work structure that combines field time, client-facing work, and independent/WFH focus
What Success Looks Like
- SWPPP reporting is fully standardized and centralized, with consistent quality across all inspectors
- SWPPP inspection revenue is growing year over year under this person's ownership
- New service lines are operational, generating revenue, and positioned to scale
- The Environmental Services Team operates smoothly with clear leadership, low turnover, and strong client satisfaction
