Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including recording medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
- Support clinical procedures like administering medications, collecting specimens for lab testing, and operating diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines when certified.
- Maintain accurate documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, including ICD coding for diagnoses and procedures.
- Manage medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and processing patient forms efficiently.
- Monitor patient physiology during inpatient stays or outpatient visits, providing basic life support when necessary and assisting with emergency responses in Level I or Level II trauma center settings.
- Support hospital medicine units, including PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics clinics, or Medical-Surgical wards, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working in dermatology clinics, hospital medicine units, urgent care centers, or outpatient settings is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology essential for accurate patient assessment and documentation.
- Hands-on experience with EHR systems and ICD coding to ensure precise recordkeeping.
- Experience supporting emergency medicine environments or Level I/II trauma centers enhances your ability to respond swiftly in critical situations.
- Familiarity with clinical procedures such as X-ray operation or medication administration is a plus.
- Previous hospital experience in inpatient or outpatient care settings is preferred; experience in Geriatrics, Medical-Surgical units, PICU, or OR environments will be highly valued.
