Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the immediate postpartum period
- Assess maternal and fetal well-being using continuous monitoring techniques
- Assist physicians and certified nurse midwives during labor and delivery
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders
- Monitor patient progress and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Educate patients and families throughout the childbirth process
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical documentation
Qualifications Required
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility to practice in New York
- Recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Current BLS Certification
- Epic EMR experience
- Current Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification through the National Certification Corporation or Intermediate AWHONN Certification issued within the past three years
- Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
Additional Information
- Proof of AWHONN class registration may be submitted initially; certification must be completed before compliance requirements are finalized.
- Navy blue scrubs are required for this assignment.
