Overview:
Position within the Regulated Interstate Accounting Department which performs pipeline & storage accounting functions for one of the largest natural gas pipeline assets in the U.S. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, seeking opportunities to learn a variety of tasks and have disciplined organizational & time management skills. Good communication skills and attributes of a team player are required as this position will have the opportunity to interact with various departments including Planning, Transportation Services, Account Services, Regulatory, Measurement, Corporate Accounting and Commercial.
Responsibilities:
- Timely & accurate preparation of monthly journal entries.

Analysis of transportation & storage contracts for proper recording of revenue per ASC 606.

Analyze and explain monthly, quarterly and year-to-date income statement variances.

Preparation & presentation of monthly close meeting schedules.

Ensure Internal Controls compliance.

Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

Timely completion of monthly, quarterly & annual regulatory reporting including State, FERC and EIA.

Timely completion of audit requests from both internal & external auditors.

Participate in periodic system testing.

Special projects and other duties as assigned.

Maintain regular, dependable attendance and a high level of performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance with 3+ years of experience.
- Natural gas pipeline experience is highly desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word) & Adobe.

Lawson financial system experience is a plus.

Highly analytical and detail oriented with ability to analyze complex issues.

Team player with the ability to work independently, with other departments & with peers.

Ability to readily take direction from supervisor(s).

Strong organizational skills & ability to manage multiple priorities which often may have strict or changing deadlines.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Overtime will be required periodically.
