Assistant Director of High School Admissions (Full-time)
The College of Westchester, an Associate degree- and Baccalaureate degree-granting college, is seeking a full-time Assistant Director of High School Admissions.
The Assistant Director of Admissions provides critical leadership to and responsibility for student recruitment efforts needed to achieve optimum enrollment in the high school market. The Assistant Director will dynamically and strategically develop and lead teams to improve effectiveness and performance outcomes with 1. Outside high school relationships and inquiry generation; 2. Inside admissions staff who recruit/advise prospective students and parents and 3. Applicant engagement activities and events to achieve applicant yield.
The Assistant Director is a player / coach who personally contributes to enrollment attainment and is responsible for directly managing the High School Admissions staff throughout the prospective student lifecycle. The Assistant Director fully supports the Vice President of Enrollment Management in development, execution and quality control of admissions team’s communication and recruitment of students.
Key Impact: This position will drive a 25% increase in high school student enrollment for Fall 2027.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- An earned bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) from a regionally accredited higher education institution and at least three consecutive years of experience in a like-kind position.
- Demonstrated success and effectiveness in higher education admissions recruiting or sales/account management in other industries.
- Strong leadership traits including communication and organizational skills with the ability to develop and monitor systems, processes and human resources that ensure enrollment goal attainment.
- Excellent relationship-building and group presentation skills. Highly experienced in admissions interviewing and prospect / applicant engagement.
- Significant technology skills including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, customer relationship management (CRM) tools and data analytics.
- A comprehensive understanding of and commitment to maintaining full compliance with all policies, standards and regulations prescribed by The College, accreditation and government agencies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Outside Recruitment
- Lead team and efforts to establish and maintain relationships with high schools in the College’s recruitment area. This area encompasses but is not limited to Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Bronx and Fairfield counties.
- Meet and exceed agreed upon goals for high school visits, presentation bookings, application days and overall inquiry generation.
- Personally conduct outreach and deliver presentations to key high schools and achieve inquiry generation targets.
- Expand number and effectiveness of dual enrollment and other high school programs and partnerships. Develop other creative approaches to attracting high school students such are workshops, etc.
Inside Recruitment
- Lead all aspects of the full funnel conversion for high school students from initial inquiry to enrollment.
- Assist with hiring, training and coaching the inside admission team and ensure that quality and activity standards and conversion expectations are met.
- Prepare and report on departmental and individual key performance data as required throughout the recruitment cycle.
- Personally conduct communication with students/families, conduct initial or secondary admissions interviews or any follow-up meetings as needed.
- Work with VP of Enrollment Management on acceptance of applicants and awarding of CW Scholarships and other awards.
General
- Collaborative team member with a commitment to open cross departmental cooperation and communication; a commitment to the College’s mission and vision, a sense of service to the College’s diverse student population and all internal and external constituencies.
- Take personal accountability in working with human resources on matters such as benefits deadlines, timely submission of time worked and time off.
- Be an ambassador of good will in assisting with recruitment, retention and placement.
- Attend CW events including Commencement, employee and student events, student recruitment events, college wide events such as Quarterly Meetings, Honor Society Inductions Ceremonies, etc.
- Uphold and model the CW Way philosophy in all interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
