We are looking for a qualified teacher to join our team! We have two schools, The Growing Tree Playcare & Preschool (a licensed center) and The Treehouse Preschool (half day preschool)
Open Positions:
-9:30-3:00 Float Teacher (Honeybee!) to work with all ages 0-6
-8:30-4:30 Preschool Teacher
-Temp 8:30-4:30 Toddler Teacher Nov-March, with possibility to start sooner and/or extend
The Growing Tree & Treehouse are play and nature-based schools, incorporating many different approaches. We believe in teaching, modeling, and fostering compassion and a love for learning. We have a team teaching environment for the most part, so all teachers share responsibilities equally and rotate who plans what each day.
Requirements: A college degree in education or child development and experience working in a preschool or daycare are preferred, but a passion for early childhood education is a must!
For lead teachers: Within 5 years of becoming a Lead Teacher, an ECE Initial Certificate (12 credits) is required. A short Certificate (20 credits) is needed 2 years from completing the Initial Certificate.
*Before one is able to work at our center, there are numerous trainings and certifications that will be required (CPR/First Aid, Food handlers, 30 hours basic STARS training, background check, etc.) We also start with a 2 month paid internship/ trial period just to make sure its a right fit for all parties, along with the right age group.
Job Description: Duties include playing, singing, reading, supervising, creating lesson plans, creating newsletters, providing daily updates through Procare, playing outside year-round (rain or shine), classroom management, supporting children with big behaviors, leading circle time, planning/participating in small group activities, prepping snack, facilitating art projects, changing diapers, assisting in potty training, communicating with parents and coworkers, writing progress reports, parent/teacher conferences, team teaching, and maintaining professionalism.
*Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, twist and kneel. Must be able supervise children visually and audibly within 15 feet (reasonable accommodations may be made). Some manual labor may be required for upkeep for our classrooms and outdoor spaces.
Compensation: Starting pay is between $23-$25 per hour based on education and experience. After the trial period, we offer a year contract with a $1000 retention bonus.
Benefits for full time employees (40/hrs per week):
After being with us for 60 days, we offer Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance to full time employees and pay for 70% of the cost. All teaching resources, classroom materials and supplies, trainings, and conferences are paid for by the company. Over 6 weeks off throughout the year (Spring break, summer break, winter break, all bank holidays, PTO days after 60 days (number depends on when you start during the year) and accrued sick pay.
