Summary: The Production Manager oversees the processing of almonds in a state-of-the-art facility with four production lines and a pasteurizer on the PM Shift. Working collaboratively with AM Production manager, the PM Production Manager will ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality operations, drive productivity, compliance, and continuous improvement while reporting directly to the Vice President of Plant Operations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Production Oversight: Manage and coordinate operations across four production lines and a pasteurizer to meet annual production targets, ensuring consistent quality and output.
- Collaboration: Partner with the co-Production Manager to align schedules, resources, and strategies, ensuring seamless operations and clear communication.
- Work closely with Logistics Director and Logistics, Warehouse and Fumigation teams to ensure production meets shipping dates/times.
- Operational Efficiency: Optimize production processes, monitor performance metrics, and implement improvements to maximize throughput, minimize waste, and reduce downtime.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate production staff, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and teamwork.
- Quality Control: Collaborate with the QA Department to ensure all products meet company and regulatory quality standards, including food safety protocols (e.g., HACCP, FDA, USDA, BRC).
- Equipment Management: Collaborate with the Maintenance Department to ensure maintenance and operation of production equipment, including the pasteurizer, to ensure reliability and compliance with safety standards.
- Compliance & Safety: Enforce adherence to all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, conducting regular audits and training.
- Inventory & Resource Management: Collaborate with Production Planning and Inventory Department to monitor raw material and finished goods inventory, coordinating with supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of resources.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates to the VP of Plant Operations on production metrics, challenges, and improvement initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Food Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in production management, preferably in food processing or agriculture (nut processing experience a plus).
- Proven ability to manage high-volume production environments with multiple lines and complex processes.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including pasteurization processes and GMP standards.
- Leadership experience with a track record of managing teams and fostering collaboration.
- Proficiency in production planning, scheduling, and ERP systems.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
