Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake processes to ensure smooth check-in and check-out experiences.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort throughout the visit.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks including phlebotomy (blood draws), medication administration, X-ray procedures, and basic life support when necessary.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) efficiently by documenting patient encounters, updating medical histories, and coding diagnoses using ICD codes.
- Support medical office management by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining organized medical documentation.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with specimen collection while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment in compliance with infection control standards across outpatient clinics or hospital settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians specializing in internal medicine, geriatrics, emergency medicine, or surgical care to deliver comprehensive patient service.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital environments; experience in dermatology, urgent care, or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential for accurate documentation.
- Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs collection, and basic physiology knowledge.
- Prior inpatient experience at Level I or Level II trauma centers or within hospital medicine settings enhances your candidacy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding procedures, anatomy, pharmacology principles, and hospital protocols is required.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations across specialties such as pediatrics (PICU), geriatrics, or medical-surgical units will be advantageous.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory to ensure readiness for emergency situations.
