Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fire Sprinkler Inspector (Must currently obtain an active RME-I Texas) license to join our team as a <PERSON>-I. In this vital role, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire sprinkler systems to ensure they meet all safety standards and code requirements. Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of fire sprinkler systems, including piping, valves, heads, and control equipment, ensuring compliance with local codes and standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, system design documents, and CAD drawings to verify installation accuracy and system integrity.
- Test system components such as sensors, alarms, low voltage wiring, and fire alarm interfaces to confirm proper operation.
- Perform construction inspections during new installations or upgrades, ensuring adherence to specifications and safety protocols.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment to perform maintenance, repairs, or adjustments on fire sprinkler systems.
- Document inspection findings accurately through detailed reports and logs; communicate issues clearly for timely resolution.
- Collaborate with construction teams, service technicians, and clients to coordinate system testing, repairs, or upgrades as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in fire sprinkler fitting, system design, or construction inspection with a strong mechanical knowledge base.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings confidently; familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
- Knowledge of electrical systems related to fire alarm and low voltage wiring; understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) standards is essential.
- Hands-on experience with field service work involving hand tools, power tools, sensors, and fire alarm systems.
- Strong understanding of fire sprinkler codes, safety standards, and inspection procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot electrical issues related to fire suppression systems.
- Effective communication skills for working with team members and clients; ability to document work thoroughly.
- Valid technical certifications or licenses related to fire protection systems are preferred but not mandatory.
