Clinical Research Medical Assistant / Certified Phlebotomist
Beach Physicians Medical Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant with a Phlebotomy Certificate to join our Clinical Research Department. This position plays an essential role in supporting clinical trials and research studies while providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Recruit and screen potential study participants
- Coordinate and schedule research study visits
- Obtain and document patient vital signs and medical history
- Perform venipuncture and specimen collection according to study protocols
- Process, prepare, and ship laboratory specimens
- Maintain accurate source documentation and study records
- Assist research providers and coordinators with study-related procedures
- Educate participants regarding study requirements and follow-up visits
- Ensure compliance with research protocols, regulatory requirements, and patient confidentiality standards
- Maintain inventory of research supplies and equipment
- Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant certification required
- Current Phlebotomy Certificate required
- Minimum 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred
- Clinical research experience preferred but not required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and patient service skills
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus
