Duties
- Thoroughly wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Assist in food preparation by slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following recipes and safety protocols
- Support meal preparation activities including portioning, plating, and garnishing dishes in accordance with menu specifications
- Operate kitchen equipment such as dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and ovens safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen environment by adhering to sanitation procedures and cleaning schedules
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food prep tasks and ensure timely service
- Follow all food safety management practices to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
Requirements
- Prior experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Basic knowledge of food handling, safety standards in production, and proper cleaning techniques
- Experience with menu planning or culinary activities such as recipe adherence and meal prep is a plus
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment including dishwashers, slicers, and cooking appliances
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to follow detailed instructions related to food safety, slicing techniques, knife skills, and catering procedures
- Kitchen or restaurant experience demonstrating familiarity with the food industry standards is highly desirable
