Position Overview
Ionia 24/7 Fitness is seeking an energetic, friendly, reliable, and customer-focused team member to join our staff. This position plays a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for members while helping grow the gym through membership sales, event coordination, and exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate is outgoing, friendly, influential, self-motivated, and passionate about health and fitness.
Responsibilities
Membership Sales & Member Retention
- Welcome prospective members and provide gym tours.
- Explain membership options and close membership sales.
- Follow up with leads through phone calls, emails, and text messages.
- Assist with member retention initiatives and referral programs.
Front Desk & Customer Service
- Greet members and guests in a friendly, professional manner, aid in maintaining a positive and welcoming front desk experience.
- Assist members with account questions and general gym information.
Member Account Management
- Set up new memberships and process membership agreements.
- Update member information and manage account records.
- Assist with billing inquiries and membership changes.
- Ensure accurate and confidential handling of member data.
Facility Cleaning & Organization
- Maintain cleanliness of workout areas, locker rooms, and common spaces.
- Wipe down equipment and ensure supplies are stocked.
- Help keep the facility organized, professional, and member-ready at all times.
Marketing, Events & Promotions
- Assist in planning and coordinating gym events, challenges, and community outreach activities.
- Help execute membership promotions and referral campaigns.
- Create social media content when needed.
- Support efforts to increase community engagement and membership growth.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service mindset.
- Comfortable with sales strategies.
- Basic computer and administrative skills.
- Previous sales, customer service, retail, or fitness industry experience is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to perform light cleaning and facility maintenance tasks.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
