Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive dance curricula tailored to different age groups and skill levels- we are particularly needing a tap teacher capable of teaching intermediate/advanced adult tap, musical theatre/broadway jazz, ballet, and modern dance
- Lead engaging dance classes for children, teens, and adults, ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Create original choreography for performances, recitals, or special events that showcase students’ progress and creativity.
- Provide constructive feedback to students on technique, performance quality, and artistic expression to promote continuous improvement.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and clear expectations to foster a safe and respectful space for learning.
- Incorporate elements of arts education such as photography or theater into dance programs when appropriate to enrich student experience.
Requirements
- Proven experience in teaching visual arts, performing arts, or dance with a focus on choreography and curriculum development.
- Strong background in various dance styles such as ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, or hip-hop; certification or formal training preferred.
- Excellent classroom management skills with the ability to engage diverse learners of all ages.
- Ability to design lesson plans that incorporate creative arts instruction including theater or music integration.
- Passion for arts education with a commitment to fostering creativity and confidence in students of all backgrounds.
