Position Summary
We're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer with strong Mastercam proficiency across both milling and turning. The right candidate is self-sufficient, detail-oriented, and comfortable working directly with machinists, engineers, and shop leadership to take parts from print to first article. This is a hands-on role — you'll be expected to write and prove out your own programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop CNC programs using Mastercam for 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling operations, as well as CNC turning and mill-turn applications
- Select appropriate tooling, work-holding, feeds, speeds, and machining strategies based on material and part geometry
- Prove out programs on the shop floor, adjusting code as needed to achieve dimensional and surface finish requirements
- Work from customer blueprints, models, and engineering drawings (GD&T proficiency required)
- Collaborate with machinists and the shop floor coordinator to resolve setup and programming challenges
- Maintain organized program libraries and revision control
- Support first article inspections and coordinate with Quality Control on dimensional verification
- Identify opportunities to improve cycle times, tooling life, and process consistency
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of CNC programming experience using Mastercam
- Demonstrated proficiency in 3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis milling toolpaths (simultaneous 5-axis preferred)
- Solid CNC turning programming experience, including OD/ID turning, threading, grooving, and live tooling
- Strong blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
- Familiarity with a variety of materials including aluminum, stainless steel, carbon steel, titanium, and exotic alloys
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple jobs simultaneously in a job shop environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with aerospace or precision industrial components
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management requirements
- Experience with post-processor selection and editing
- Background in job shop environments (low volume, high mix)
- Experience using JobBOSS or similar ERP systems

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
