The Connection, a nonprofit community organization serving Summit and surrounding communities, is seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and caring individuals to join our Afterschool Program team.
This position is ideal for college students, aspiring educators, recent graduates, and anyone who enjoys working with children in a fun, active, and supportive environment.
Position Summary
As a Part-Time Afterschool Program Assistant, you will support the Site Director in providing a safe, engaging, and enriching afterschool experience for elementary-aged children. You will help facilitate activities, assist with homework, supervise participants, and contribute to a positive environment where children can learn, play, and grow.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily operation of a five-day-per-week afterschool program
- Support children with homework and academic activities
- Help facilitate games, enrichment activities, recreation, and social engagement
- Use positive behavior management techniques to encourage participation and success
- Supervise children during program activities and transitions
- Provide one-on-one support to participants as needed
- Attend required trainings and staff meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a consistent schedule
- Positive, energetic, and engaging approach to working with youth
- CPR/First Aid Certification required within three months of hire
Schedule
Part-Time | Monday–Friday | 2:45 PM – 6:00 PM
School-Year Position (10 Months)

Compensation
$15.92 per hour
