Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and efficiently manage patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information.
- Measure and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates with precision.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures including medication administration, X-ray preparation, and basic life support techniques.
- Support hospital medicine and outpatient services by preparing examination rooms and ensuring all necessary supplies are available.
- Document patient information accurately in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Perform basic physiology and anatomy assessments to support diagnosis and treatment plans.
- Assist with ICD coding for billing purposes and ensure compliance with medical terminology standards.
- Support emergency medicine scenarios within Level I or Level II trauma centers by providing immediate assistance during urgent situations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas, including the operating room (OR) when applicable.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in inpatient units such as the PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) or Geriatrics wards to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or specialized settings such as dermatology or urgent care is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding is essential for accurate documentation and communication.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or trauma centers are advantageous.
- Experience supporting inpatient or outpatient care within hospital environments—particularly Level I or Level II trauma centers—is a strong plus.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient data entry and retrieval is necessary for seamless workflow management.
- Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatric patients in PICU settings.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures or assist in medical-surgical procedures is desirable but not mandatory.
