General Tutor (K-6) or (7-11)
This position resides in Union City, California.
Are you looking for a fun and challenging part-time opportunity to supplement your studies? KEONI is seeking an enthusiastic and well-rounded general tutor, a "jack/jill of all trades" type with the ability to instruct students in a variety of subjects. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strength and flexibility in multiple areas of study including humanities-based subjects.
Responsibilities:
- Tutor K-6 and/or 7-11 students in math, reading, and writing
- Help students complete homework, create outlines/study guides and practice for exams
- Create brief student progress reports
- Act as educational coach and mentor, being sensitive to various factors that may affect a student's academic performance
Qualifications:
- At minimum a high school senior or undergraduate student with a 3.5 GPA or higher
- MUST be able to demonstrate marked proficiency in tutoring K-6 grade and/or 7-11 grade subjects
- Experience with Common Core State Standards is a plus
- Previous experience in providing education and support to families and/or working with children is a plus
Requirements:
- Must be willing to work a minimum of two days (or 8 hours) in the week at the Union City location (Tutoring Hours: Monday - Thursday; 2:30 pm - 7:30 pm)
- Prospective applicants will be asked to complete a qualifying assessment covering reading, writing, and math.

Our methodology of teaching includes providing high-quality, personalized instruction to students on a 1:2 ratio. We create an individualized curriculum for our students based on our comprehensive assessment results. The purpose of this center is to offer high-quality academic programs to students at all levels and to inspire students to love learning again.
