Pipe Stress Engineer | Ogden, UT
Nexeo Staffing is actively hiring a Pipe Stress Engineer for a direct-hire opportunity in Ogden, UT. This position supports the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Sentinel (formerly GBSD) program, a nationally significant U.S. Air Force initiative focused on modernizing the nation's ground-based nuclear deterrent.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale infrastructure and defense projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams. The position offers a 9x80 work schedule (every other Friday off), paid overtime, relocation assistance for qualified candidates, and excellent work-life balance.
Responsibilities

Perform pipe stress analysis of piping systems in accordance with ASME B31.3 Code.

Model piping systems to verify flexibility, stability, and equipment nozzle loads.

Collaborate with piping layout personnel and pipe support engineers to develop quality, cost-effective designs.

Coordinate with engineering disciplines, vendors, and project stakeholders throughout the design process.

Apply plant design and piping engineering principles while exercising independent engineering judgment.

Participate in design reviews and recommend approval of drawings and engineering documentation.

Analyze conflicting design requirements and develop practical engineering solutions.

Evaluate the use of unconventional materials, construction techniques, and design approaches when appropriate.

Coordinate engineering activities with specialty groups, clients, contractors, and vendors.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

6+ years of pipe stress engineering experience.

Working knowledge of ASME B31.3 and/or ASME B31.1 piping codes.

Experience using Bentley AutoPIPE for pipe stress analysis.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Ability to successfully complete a background check and pre-employment drug screening, including marijuana testing.

Must possess a valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued identification card at the time of hire.

Due to federal security requirements, applicants must be U.S. Citizens.
- Preferred: Experience supporting large-scale industrial, infrastructure, or defense-related projects.
Pay
$118,000.00 - $185,000.00 per year
