Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and energetic Master Painter to lead and execute a wide range of painting projects across residential, commercial, and industrial settings. As a Master Painter, you will be responsible for delivering top-quality finishes, ensuring safety compliance, and supervising painting teams when necessary. Your expertise in surface preparation, coating application, and color coordination will be vital in transforming spaces and exceeding client expectations. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces thoroughly through cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and other surface preparation techniques to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
- Apply paints, stains, coatings, and finishes using various methods including brush painting, roller painting, conventional spray painting, airless paint spraying, and construction spray painting.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction schematics to accurately execute project specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and fixture installation equipment safely and effectively to reach high or difficult areas.
- Conduct color matching and visual color comparisons to achieve desired aesthetic results aligned with client preferences or project requirements.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety regulations by utilizing respiratory protection, following safety protocols, and ensuring a safe working environment for all team members.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to assess project scope, estimate materials needed through construction estimating skills, and plan work schedules efficiently.
- Perform restoration, renovation, maintenance tasks including masonry work, stucco application, trim carpentry, framing, plastering, and handyman services as needed.
- Ensure quality control by inspecting finished work for consistency in coating thicknesses and surface smoothness while adhering to industry standards for industrial and commercial painting projects.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting with a strong portfolio of residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
- Proficiency in construction estimating and interpreting technical drawings or schematics.
- Skilled in surface preparation techniques such as sanding, caulking, plastering, masonry work, and renovation processes.
- Knowledge of color theory to deliver visually appealing finishes tailored to client specifications.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools (including airless sprayers), ladders, scaffolding safely while maintaining OSHA safety standards.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematics for accurate project execution.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations including respiratory protection use and safety protocol adherence on construction sites.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to coatings application and material estimates.
- Additional experience in restoration work or fixture installation is a plus; handyman experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
