Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Transportation Router to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and optimizing daily service routes for a fleet of independent drivers, ensuring timely drop offs and high customer satisfaction. This role plays a key part in the daily operational success of our transportation network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create, adjust, and optimize daily routes for independent drivers based on number of trips, driver availability, and geographic zones.
- Utilize route planning software to generate efficient routes.
- Monitor driver progress and provide real-time updates or re-routing as needed.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with independent drivers to relay schedules, changes, and expectations.
- Bilingual is preferred but not required
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate effectively Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in transportation routing, logistics coordination, or dispatching (preferably with independent contractor drivers).
- Proficient in route optimization software and tools; strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Excellent geographical knowledge and map-reading ability.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
