As a Barista/Cashier at our tea cafe, you will be the heart and soul of our beverage-making process and the friendly face that greets our customers. Your main responsibilities include:
Crafting Exceptional Beverages:
Delight in serving some of the best beverages in Ventura County as according to Yelp Elite members. Precise knowledge of kitchen measurements and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions are needed.
Providing Outstanding Customer Service:
You'll be the driving force behind our exceptional customer service. Greeting each customer with a warm smile, you'll take their orders, answer any questions they may have about our tea offerings, and ensure that their visit is nothing short of delightful. Your friendly demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile will leave a lasting impression on our customers.
Cash Handling and Point-of-Sale Operations:
As a Cashier, you'll handle transactions with accuracy and efficiency. You'll be responsible for processing payments, operating the cash register, and maintaining an organized and tidy checkout area. Successful candidates will understand how to make change and count out their draw quickly and accurately.
Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization:
Our tea cafe prides itself on providing a clean and inviting atmosphere. You'll be responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the cafe, including the beverage preparation area, seating area, and restrooms. Your attention to detail will help create a welcoming environment for our customers.
Opening/Closing: Preparing pre-made toppings and safely storing ingredients at close and in mornings.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including specialty coffees, teas, and smoothies, ensuring consistency and quality in every cup
- Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS accurately to process retail sales transactions efficiently
- Engage with customers warmly, providing exceptional customer service that encourages repeat visits and builds community rapport
- Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling stations, beverage prep zones, and seating areas, adhering to food safety standards
- Handle cash transactions with accuracy, processing payments swiftly while giving correct change and managing register operations
- Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, including basic food handling and beverage assembly to meet quality standards
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and maintain a lively, organized workspace
Qualifications Include:
- Ability to lift 44lb
- Proficiency in using POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for retail sales transactions
- Previous food service experience.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Outstanding customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and process cash transactions efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures in a retail or food service setting
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours without compromising quality or service speed
- Basic math skills for cash handling, order accuracy, and inventory management
- Student applicants should have a minimum 3.0gpa
