Prepares and cooks food items in accordance with company standards and menu. Prep Cooks are expected to follow detailed instructions in cooking and consistently execute well-prepared food items. Successful Prep cooks will be able to move effienciently in the kitchen as well as multi-task effectively.
Responsibilities
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment (mis en place)
- Prepare ingredients (chopping, peeling, cutting veggies/meat etc.)
- Cook food w/ various tools and equipment
- Ensure great presentation
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized environment in the kitchen
- Ensure food and items are stored safely and properly according to food handling and safety laws
- Monitor stock and inventory
Skills and Requirements
- At least 1 Year Experience as line cook in restaurant/café. (culinary training is a plus)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures including but not limited to: (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
- Excellent Communication Skills
- Knowledge of ServSafe/ food handling procedures
